I was first introduced to this book in the late 90's while in massage school. I remember browsing through it, but never really studied it until years later. Boy, did I miss out! This is a fantastic in-depth look into human nature through our energetic body, mainly the chakras. Although, if you never absorb anything about the chakras specifically, you will still learn so much about the way humans interact based on unconscious emotional patterns. She walks you through each chakra (energy center of your body located up the midline of the torso and head) and how they relate to emotional and generational patterns, as well as the wisdom contained in each one. I love how she compares and sees the correlations to the way God designed us, and how Christian beliefs match perfectly to that. She has also found the same similarities to Hindu and Kabbalah. I think it's a beautiful thing that so many of God's children have so many similarities regardless of religious backgrounds. There are some things that I don't agree with religion-wise, but overall, there are too many helpful things not to consider reading this book. Here's a quote from Chapter 2: The Second Chakra "The fact that our choices weave our spirits into events is the reason the major spiritual traditions are formed around one essential lesson: Make your choices wisely, because each choice you make is a creative act of spiritual power for which you are held responsible. Further, any choice made from faith has the full power of heaven behind it --which is why "faith the size of a mustard seed can move a mountain." And any choice made from fear is a violation of the energy of faith." Myss also gives great questions for self-reflection after each chapter. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting more information on chakras, but also for help in releasing old emotional baggage.
